The conscious consumption committee focuses on promoting sustainable habits at the individual level. Our goal is to empower consumers to make conscious decisions in their everyday lives about what we buy and use. Whether it be by shopping second-hand, learning how to dispose of items responsibly, or by learning how to care for the things you already own. 

 

Eco Chic Fashion Show

The event featured three incredible speakers who shared valuable insights on sustainability in fashion:
* Sandra Goldmark, Associate Dean at the Columbia Climate School, delivered a keynote on transforming sustainability into a public commitment.
* Phoebe Gates, Co-founder of PHIA, an AI-powered shopping tool launching in 2025, highlighted the importance of women's health and empowerment.
*Gabrielle Ferrara, COO of Ferrara Manufacturing, discussed the role of intentional design and innovation in sustainable garment production.

ECO CHIC showcased the creativity and artistry of fashion while emphasizing its potential for ethical and sustainable expression. The fashion show component featured five designers, each presenting 2–3 pieces judged on innovation, up-cycling, styling, and storytelling. Their designs were not only stunning, but also a powerful reminder to “dress for yourself and the planet."
